MTH 104. MATHEMATICS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS II

A continuation of MTH 103. Topics include elementary probability, statistics, and geometry.


Course Specifics



Meeting Times(s):

This course carries three (3) credits.

    Section A
  • Class will meet Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in SLC 403 .

Prerequisiste(s):

Admission to the Teacher Education Program or consent of instructor.

Assignments:

Assignments will be given and will be integrated into classroom discussions. There may be occasions where submission will be required.

Grading:

There will be a minimum of four (4) examinations. All tests will aggregate to 70% of the course grade. A cumulative final examination will be given and will be worth 30% of the total grade. Failure to take any test will result in a failing grade for the course. You must receive a passing grade in the final examination to receive a passing grade for the course.

All work is to be your own - any instances to the contrary will result in a failing grade for the course and referral to the Academic Deans.

Class attendance is highly encouraged. Should you miss a class for any reason, you are still responsible for all announcements and all material presented during that class. Attendance will be taken and will affect borderline grades. Please note that the Wilkes Student Handbook states that after five consecutive instructional hours of unexcused absences from a class, students may be readmitted to the class only by action of the Office of Student Affairs and the department chairperson concerned.
